It has been a year since the decision to go for a multi instance architecture Wordpress was made, and since then the technical track has focused on the much needed groundwork to enable such architecture and complete redesign of Greenpeace.org Greenpeace's global CMS. In this session we want to share our experience and vision building an engagement platform that empowers our audiences and transforms the way Greenpeace exists in digital channels.
Planet 4 is the codename for the complete redesign of Greenpeace.org. The new platform will be the successor of Planet 3, and become Greenpeace's global content management system (CMS). Ultimately built on Wordpress, Planet 4 will be used to create and manage Greenpeace websites as well as to host content and design guidelines for Greenpeace International website's. This project will be developed using open principles.
The new creative concept for greenpeace.org and the global web presences of Greenpeace is the slingshot and the rocket and the space people need to act on behalf of our planet. And so with this vision, and the understanding that a billion acts of courage can spark a greater tomorrow, we’ve worked towards defining an engagement platform that empowers our audiences and transforms the way Greenpeace exists in digital channels.
